Group actions and low-dimensional topology
Dates: July 3-July 7, 2023
Place: El Barco de Ávila, Spain
Organizers: Javier Aramayona (ICMAT-UAM), Jeff Brock (Yale), Ken Bromberg (Utah), Viveka Erlandsson (Bristol), Chris Leininger (Rice), Marithania Silvero (Sevilla)
This workshop is part of a thematic program on geometric group theory and low-dimensional geometry and topology at ICMAT (Madrid). It is framed within ICMAT’s Agol Lab, a research cluster on the general areas of geometric group theory and low dimensional topology, chaired by Ian Agol.
Location and transport: El Barco de Ávila is a small village about 180km to the west of Madrid, at the foot the Gredos mountain range. There is a direct bus from Madrid, twice a day.
Accomodation: We have blocked 50 rooms in the Hotel Mirador de Gredos as 4 star hotel in the village. To reserve a room participants should write reservas@hotelmiradordegredos.com that you are with the mathematics conference along with you arrival and depature dates. Room rates are 65 euros per night for a single and 80 for a double. Please reserve your room before December 15th.
Funding: Some funding is available with a priority for early career researchers and long-term visitors. If you are interested in being considered for funding you should register before December 15th.
