Stephen Wiggins Laboratory (2012-2015)

The Stephen Wiggins Laboratory was a joint project with the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics team at ICMAT. It was funded through ICMAT’s first Severo Ochoa program (SEV-2011-0087), and was led by Ana M. Mancho. Its main goal was the development of theoretical and computational techniques in dynamical systems theory that can be used to assess and predict the performance of “realistic” geophysical data sets. Among others the interests of the group were:

  • The advancement of theory and foundations of novel dynamical systems tools.
  • The development of computacional techniques and models for geophysical fluid dynamics.
  • The application of these mathematical concepts and computational tools to cutting edge applications for society challenges such as sustainability, climate change and environmental impact.
