Bruno Anglès (Université de Caen Normandie, France)

Bruno Anglès, professor at the Université de Caen Normandie (France), is an expert in arithmetic geometry and algebraic number theory. In particular, he is a leading expert in the study of the arithmetic of global function fields, in the tradition of researchers such as G. W. Anderson, L. Carlitz, D. Goss, D. Hayes or D. Thakur.

He is currently particularly interested in the arithmetic properties of the special values of positive characteristic L-functions, and has collaborated with numerous co-authors to solve important problems within this area.

Anglès’ work has been published in prestigious journals such as Inventiones mathematicae, Compositio Mathematica, Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Mathematische Annalen, Advances in Mathematics or Transactions of the American Mathematical Society. In addition, he has successfully supervised eight doctoral theses, and is currently supervising two more.

Research field

Arithmetic geometry and algebraic number theory. More specifically, the arithmetic of global function fields.

Research project

We will work on numerous important aspects of the arithmetic of special L-values in positive characteristic, from an equivariant point of view.
