SPOR is composed of ICMAT (CSIC-UAM-UC3M-UCM) researchers interested in stimulating interdisciplinary research and exploring new complex contexts for the use of Applied Probability, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics and Operations Research, for modeling, estimating, forecasting and decision support purposes and their use in industry. They emphasize international and industrial cooperation and competitive doctoral and postdoctoral training, organization of international standing research events and dissemination activities.
SPOR’s members are closely related to the AXA Chair in Adversary Risk Analysis at the ICMAT and the DataLab, which provides statistical support to other CSIC institutes and non-academic partners with the focus on big data and large scale analytics in grand challenge scientific and business applications
