I did my degree in Physics (Licenciado en Ciencias Físicas, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, 2002) and I obtained my PhD in Mathematics (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 2008). I have held postdoctoral positions in Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2008-2010) and Universität Innsbruck (2010-2013). In 2013 I joined the Departamento de Matemáticas at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where I am associate professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) since 2019. Since 2023 I am also affiliated to ICMAT.
Due to my education, I have a general interest in the broad field of mathematical physics (i.e. answering non-trivial mathematical questions that are motivated by physics). In more detail, my research focuses in quantum information theory and my main area of expertise is entanglement theory, which is one of the quantum properties with no classical analogue that is considered responsible for the revolutionary applications of quantum technologies. I am interested in any mathematical tools that can serve for this purpose with a particular emphasis in matrix theory and related topics.
