About:
Guillermo Gallego is a PhD student of Mathematics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) under the supervision of Oscar García-Prada. He studied a Double Degree in Mathematics and Physics at UCM and a Master's Degree in Advanced Mathematics, also at UCM. He also obtained a Master's Degree in Teacher Training (Formación del Profesorado) and has worked as a "Data Science" teacher in the private sector. Since November 2020 he is holding a predoc researcher position at UCM, which makes him part of the Department of Algebra, Geometry and Topology and the Faculty of Matematical Sciences of that university, where he collaborates in teaching concerns.
His research interests lie in the area of Differential and Algebraic Geometry over the field of complex numbers. More precisely, he is interested in studying the geometry and topology of moduli spaces of vector bundles with additional structure. These objects have motivated a lot of results in the last decade, since they appear in the intersection of several branches of mathematics, like Algebraic Topology, Algebraic Geometry and Mathematical Physics.
