Fernando Chamizo is Profesor Titular at the Department of Mathematics of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and researcher at the ICMAT. He obtained his PhD in Mathematics at UAM in 1997 and a Master Degree in Theoretical Physics in 2016.
He has coauthored more than 50 papers and some of them have been published in top-ranked journals such as Advances in Mathematics, Journal of Functional Analysis, Publicacions Mathemàtiques, etc.
The bulk of his work belongs to number theory. His research lines are the spectral theory of automorphic forms, lattice point problems, multiplicative number theory and the interplay between number theory and harmonic analysis. He has also interest in topics of mathematical physics.
He is member of the editorial board of the international journal Revista Matemática Iberoamericana (EMS) since 2001.
