She has spent several research stays at Michigan State University, Purdue University (post-doctoral research visitor and invited research professor), University of Michigan -Ann Arbor- (visiting research position), University of Leeds (London Mathematical Society visitor), Indiana University -Bloomington-(visiting research scholar) and Bucknell University (Distinguished Visiting Professor). She has been supported by the program Movilidad en los Programas de Estancias de movilidad de profesores e investigadores en centros extranjeros de enseñanza superior e investigación incluido el Programa Salvador de Madariaga (2004, 2014 and 2018).
She was Assistant Professor at University of Cádiz (1996-2003) and later on, she held a permanent position at University of Zaragoza (2003-2009) and was a member of the research institute IUMA (Instituto Universitario de Matemáticas y Aplicaciones). Currently, she is Catedrática de Universidad (Full Professor) at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and member of the research institute ICMAT (Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas- (CSIC-UAM-UC3-UCM)).
Her main research interests are focussed on Complex Analysis and Operator Theory. She has coauthored over sixty research papers. Among them, the paper The role of the spectrum in the cyclic behavior of composition operators (joint with Montes-Rodríguez) Memoirs of the AMS, 167, 791, x+81, 2004, was awarded with a FEATURED REVIEW.
She has supervised three Ph-d theses (see https://www.mathgenealogy.org/id.php?id=124098) and currently is supervising a fourth one.
