Abstract: The renowned mathematician Edward Frenkel presents an unconventional perspective on mathematics. He stars in a short film paying homage to the Japanese filmmaker Yukio Mishima (Rites of Love and Death). The film tells the story of a mathematician who discovers the formula for love and tattoos it on his lover’s body.
“It is an allegory of the search for truth, in mathematics and in love; once it is found, what else remains?”, Edward Frenkel (University of California, Berkeley).
