On Friday 13 March 2026, ICMAT presented the second edition of the Mathematics Intensive Program (MIP), a high-performance mathematics training programme aimed at university students with a particular interest in and vocation for mathematics.

The initiative was launched in the 2024–2025 academic year with four participants: Sofía Paz, Iván López, Justo Salcedo and Gonzalo San Vicente, who shared their experiences at the event held at ICMAT. Speakers at the event included Javier Aramayona, Director of ICMAT, and David Martín de Diego, MIP Coordinator. In addition, Andrés Laín, Mencía Reborido and José Antonio Lucas, PhD students at ICMAT, presented demonstrations on phenomena related to fluids. The event was closed by Eloísa del Pino, President of CSIC.
