The harmonic flow of geometric structures

Abstract:

Questions of holonomy reduction to a subgroup \(H\) of \(SU(n)\) translate into the existence of parallel tensors.  These problems are notoriously hard to solve so we introduce the softer notion of harmonicity of \(H\)-structures and study the associated heat flow to find conditions of long-time existence and convergence.
