Geometry behind (super)integrable magnetic systems: Haantjes algebra and Eisenhart lift
Speaker: Ondrej Kubu (ICMAT)Date: Thursday, 30 January 2025 - 12:00Place: Aula Gris 1, ICMAT
Abstract:
I will first review standard results on separable systems with magnetic field. Next, I introduce symplectic-Haantjes geometry and present its application to Hamiltonian integrable systems in a magnetic field from Kubů et al. Proc. R. Soc. A 480: 20240076. Last, I will present my current understanding of several (equivalent) methods that describe trajectories of the magnetic system through geodesics (on an extended space) - the Eisenhart lift, Finsler-Randers metric and Zermelo wind. The research direction for my ICMAT postdoc is to study combination of these notions.
