Abstract:
Talk 1: Lifting problems past and present
We survey several (mostly open) problems concerning the local and global lifting properties for maps with values in a quotient self-adjoint operator algebra.
We particularly emphasize the question whether the local property implies the global one.
Talk 2. Lifting and tensor products of operator algebras
The local lifting property and the (global) lifting property can each be characterized by a simple property involving tensor products of C*-algebras.
We discuss their connection with the weak expectation property and the Connes embedding problem following Kirchberg's viewpoint.
