Introduction to dispersive PDEs
Speaker: Lucrezia Cossetti (Ikerbasque & RyC Research Fellow at UPV/EHU)Date: Monday, 02 March 2026 - Thursday, 05 March 2026 - 15:30-17:30Place: Aula Gris 1 & Aula Gris 2, ICMAT
Abstract:
The aim of this lectures is to provide the main analytical tools, developed in the last 30 years, in order to handle the main questions concerning the evolution of dispersive waves, that is local and global well-posedness and asymptotic behaviour (scattering). These include harmonic analytical tools (e.g. dispersive and Strichartz estimates) as well as spectral theoretical results (e.g. the Virial Theorem) and some nowadays standard arguments (concentration-compactness) which are ubiquitous in Nonlinear Analysis. The nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) will be our toy model along the lectures. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to approach the research about this and related topics.
Venue:
- 2, 3 and 4 March - Aula Gris 1
- 5 March - Aula Gris 2
