Open Call ICMAT – H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships 2017 (MSCA-IF)

The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas – ICMAT) is looking for post-doctorates in Mathematics with an excellent CV who wish to pursue their research career at the ICMAT. In this sense, we offer collaboration to help candidates to write excellent scientific projects and administrative support for projects submission to the H2020-MSCA-IF-2017 call for proposals

MSCA-IF is part of the H2020 European research programme and its goal is to enhance research potential of experienced researchers through international mobility. Thus, this programme offers to researchers worldwide the possibility to continue their research in Mathematics at the ICMAT. This scheme pays particular attention to the return and reintegration of European researchers who are working outside the EU or who wish to resume research in Europe after a career break.

The ICMAT is interested in hosting post-doctorate researchers in the following research lines:

  • LINE 1: Algebraic Geometry and Mathematical Physics
    • Moduli Spaces and Geometric Structures
    • Singularity Theory
  • LINE 2: Differential Geometry, Symplectic Geometry and Geometric Mechanics
    • Symplectic and differential geometry
    • Geometric Mechanics and Control Theory
  • LINE 3: Mathematical Analysis, Differential Equations and Applications
    • Mathematical Analysis
    • Mathematical Analysis
  • LINE 4: Number Theory (Analytic and Combinatorial Number Theory, Algebraic Number Theory)
  • LINE 5: Group theory
  • LINE 6: Statistics, Probability and Operations Research
  • LINE 7: Mathematics and Quantum Information: Foundations and Applications

This call for proposals opened on the 11 April 2017 and closes on the 14 September 2017.

Who can apply?

At the deadline for the submission of proposals, researchers:

  • shall be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience.
  • must not have resided or carried out their main activities in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the deadline.

Applications: documents to be submitted and deadlines

If you are an Experienced Researcher with an excellent CV willing to continue your research career at a leading international research centre in Mathematics like ICMAT, do not hesitate to submit to europa@icmat.es the following documents before the 15th June 2017, indicating in the subject “MSCA IF candidate for ICMAT Call 2017”:

  • Letter of motivation for applying for a MSCA Individual Fellowships at the ICMAT, indicating the line of research of your interest and research idea.
  • Curriculum Vitae, including the contact details of 3 referees.

Note: An ICMAT panel will screen all the applications and only the most promising ones regarding the excellence-based competitive conditions and evaluation criteria of the MSCA-IF programme will be contacted in due course for further discussions.
