Biographical Review

Born in 1985, Miguel Domínguez Vázquez obtained his PhD in 2013 at the University of Santiago de Compostela, under the advisorship of José Carlos Díaz Ramos. After a short postdoctoral stay at King's College London, he obtained a fellowship from IMPA (Brazil), where he worked for two years. In January 2016, he joined the ICMAT with a Juan de la Cierva fellowship, under the supervision of Alberto Enciso. Since April 2017 he is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at ICMAT.

He has been interested in the relation between symmetry and shape from the viewpoint of Riemannian submanifold theory. More specifically, he has investigated isometric actions, isoparametric submanifolds, hypersurfaces with constant principal curvatures, and submanifolds of symmetric spaces. His main project at ICMAT focuses on the interplay between isoparametric hypersurfaces and PDE problems.
