By Air:

Madrid-Barajas Airport, the third European airport, is just 13 km away from the city, and its connections by public transportation are some of the quickest and easiest to use in the world: besides bus or taxi, travelers may take the Metro, where every five minutes a train to/from Madrid-Barajas Airport leaves from Nuevos Ministerios Station in the City Centre at a cost of 4.5 - 5 €, or take the Suburban where every 30 minutes a train to/from Madrid-Barajas Airport leaves from Chamartín at a cost of 2.55 €. In 2013, the airport handled 39,729,027 passengers, 333,065 operations from all over the world. Madrid-Barajas International Airport receives flights from over 172 destinations, including several low cost airlines, and is the main European air hub for Latin America.

By Train:

International trains arrive at Atocha (France and Portugal) or Chamartín (France) train stations. Atocha is the station located in the south center of the city and Chamartín is in the north. Both stations have access to metro lines.

By Bus:

Avenida de América and Méndez Álvaro bus stations are the main ones in the city. Both stations have routes to other Spanish cities and international destinations. Méndez Alvaro is located in the south of the city and Avenida de América is located in the north east.

 

HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE

The opening sessions will take place at Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid, PMC, (avenida Capital de España, Madrid s/n). There will be a shuttle bus (for participants staying at hotels with this service), for the rest, the PMC is closed to Campo de las Naciones station (Metro L8 from Nuevos Ministerios to Airport T4). After the opening sessions there will be a shuttle bus to the main venue building (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) for all participants.

The Gala dinner will take place at Casa Mónico Restaurant (Avenida Padre Huidobro, 5). Meliá Castilla, Abba Castilla, Husa Chamartín and all NH hotels will have a door-to-door shuttle bus, while the rest of hotels will have a shutlle service from/to Plaza España.

Shuttle buses:

There is a shuttle bus between some hotels (Meliá Castilla, Abba Castilla, Husa Chamartín, NH Argüelles, NH La Habana, NH Zurbano and NH Bretón) and the Venue. This service is only for those participants who have booked through the oficial hotel handling agent (Areco).

Train:

Line C-4a (Parla - Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes), Cantoblanco Universidad Station
Line C-4b (Parla - Colmenar Viejo), Cantoblanco Universidad Station

Main Road Access:

M-607 road, exit number 15 until Einstein street.

Taxi Service:

From the city centre, 20 minutes approximately. Estimated cost: 20 - 25 €.
From the airport, 20 minutes approximately. Estimated cost: 25 - 30 €.
